crc utility

CRC utility

Did MS release the CRC checking utility with the Public release program so the burned iso could be checked before installing? I always test the iso before installing my betas so I know that the integrity of the install is good.

Don't know if MS di;but you can always use 3rd party ones. That's what I did;used an md5 check-turned out perfect

There is a Microsoft one. I did not copy it. I saw it posted in a chat with the Vista team.

It would help to know if these people tested thier iso for integrity-so many bugs are caused by a bad burning. They still could do the test and see if the DVD was complete and a good burn.

I know, but I just don't have the link. MS does say that three quarters of the complaints about installation trace back to file copy errors and not download problems and that almost all of those are due to the burn speed.

I got mine on connect site but I will search for it on MS and find a link for it. I will suggest that they include it with the RC1 download and instruct people to use it to test the DVD before installing-but that would take all of the "fun" out of these ngs.
